ABOUT LINDA
Linda is an award-winning Central Coast artist from Lompoc, California.
She is known for her beautiful and realistic watercolor, acrylic and colored pencil work as well as some fun mixed media and “Found Object Art” creations.
She is almost a Lompoc native, having moved here in sixth grade and eventually marrying the “boy next door” and settling into their home on the historic south side of town.
Her wonderful light-filled cottage studio is surrounded by garden in the backyard of her 1906 home. It was built by her husband Tom, with help from her brother-in-law, sister and friends. It is always a favorite stop on the Lompoc Studio Tours.
Creativity has always been a large part of her life and career as she worked for the US Forest Service, La Purisima State Historic Park, Newcomb Printing, and MWR Services at Vandenberg Air Force Base where she started the Publicity Department and became the Lead Illustrator/Publicist. Retiring early, she pursued her interest in fine arts. Having always been attracted to watercolor, she took a class at Allan Hancock college and has never turned back.
Her work has been shown in Lompoc’s Cypress Gallery since 1995 where she has received multiple awards in the juried shows including several Best of Show. She was selected to represent the Lompoc Valley Art Association in Best of the Best, the Art Council’s Santa Barbara county-wide juried art show every year from 1995 – 2011 (until the show ended) and won First Place, several 2nd Place and numerous People’s Choice Awards.
She is a member of the Lompoc 10 artists, the Lompoc Valley Art Association, and the Lompoc Mural Society.
Her work can be seen at Cypress Gallery and La Purisima Mission Gift Shop in Lompoc.
